A popular local bagel/coffee shop in Lake Forest - musta opened back up this weekend.
I was at Ralphs picking up groceries. As I was leaving, I drove past the bagel shop. Packed like sardines outside. Absolutely no social distancing. Did not see a single mask on the maybe 30 people outside. Tables set up maybe three feet apart. Mothers holding children under a year old, chatting with friends maybe two feet away. No line outside the door so I assume the line was inside, most likely without social distancing as well.
Unbelievable.

We'll know soon enough whether we're all overreacting, or whether the U.S. is Fucked.

I guess people just decided it's "over" now and they wanna have their haircuts and bagels and summer.

(4,008 posts)perhaps all these people around the country should spend a day observing nurses in the hospitals trying to save lives from this virus. It will make it very real.

Old guys sitting in the front corner on weekdays are complete Fox Suckers. Unfortunately sat there one day and had to listen to 10 minutes of their shit. One guy somewhat knew they were being assholes and said, sorry you had to listen to us fix the world. I responded, it that what that was? I just heard some astoundingly ignorant shit! Not a fucking word back, it is the mob mentality of them, they think it makes them a part of the club to loudly talk crap. Rather than sitting in a local bar they go to Bagels & Brew in the morning.

(8,419 posts)With them it seems to be a lot of talk about stocks. Never hear politics. And never as loud. Seems to be a mixed group of retirees. Woman included, not just the old guys. Stay away from Bellas or Beladonas in the Ralphs center up in Foothill. Three day old bagels. Used to have a tv going and a few old dudes bitching, owner shut the tv down. Hasnt improved the bagels

Bagels and Brew Cares About their customers. A big shout out to Bagels and Brew here in Lake Forest! I have been going there for many years but I saw that a few customers were going in without masks and were not being questioned about that by staff. I wrote a respectful note to management that my husband is fighting Stage IV cancer and I cant afford to bring the virus home so I wouldnt be able to come to the store any longer. I received a very prompt reply that Bagels and Brew would now be requiring masks in order to come inside the store. In addition - they would bring my purchases outside to the curb if need be. WOW! I am so impressed with them and so very grateful that they care enough about their customers and their staff to do the right thing to keep everyone safe and healthy. I hope all of you give them your business and support their efforts. I know I will......
