(4,305 posts)We have over 300,000 Chinese students in this country. The 3000 they are talking about have ties to the Chinese military.

(19,108 posts)There are tens of thousands of Chinese grad students in the US paying full price on tuition, colleges are incredibly cash strapped right now, losing these students will be a big big deal to them.
Personally, I've made some friends in grad school with Chinese students, they really bring a great diversity to any classroom that fosters learning. Had a class on International Business that had like 8 of 25 students who were Chinese nationals, was a great.
