A note about the "Undecided" feature in our Profiles regarding our Dem candidates

I was puzzled about a post in a thread that commented negatively about members who have "Undecided" in their profiles.

It caused me to look at mine, which I haven't seen in years, and discovered that, sure enough, there it was. I did a bit of random Profile-looking, and saw a couple of longtime members with the same thing.

It shouldn't be a question about anybody in the near total membership here at DU whether we support our Democratic candidates. For my years here I never ventured into the Primaries forum (Group?) until this year, and immediately got into a firefight OVER NOTHING MORE THAN an opinion that anybody has a right to and took my tookus out of that place - with a fresh scar. But in order to be there in the first place, at the height of the multiple candidates, I believe it was a requirement to pick a candidate or else the "Undecided" label. I had no idea that the label would remain stuck in my Profile after my zap-speed departure out of that place.

I'll say it anyway that I'm a born multi-generation Democrat, and over my entire voting life have had several times when my preferred candidate in the Primaries was never the eventual Nominee, yet my unfailing vote was for whoever our final Nominee was, very often with enthusiasm.

None of this is needed to be said, certainly not *questioned* - more of a public service regarding the Profile thing.

I don't think most people even know that is there. I did participate in GDP a little tiny bit this year.

I have seen you around here forever and a day now. I wouldn't doubt you anyhow.

I don't understand why some call others out on it. A lot of people might not even know that is there in our profiles, especially if they never participated in the circular firing squad that usually is the primaries on here.

Probably never knew it existed. And I don't recall it ever being a feature of DU until this past years GDP.
And the option probably remained undecided for those that never posted in GDP.
Simple, huh?

I was undecided and didn’t bother to change it, but now it shows Biden. How strange.

primary season ended...

From Annoucements, https://www.democraticunderground.com/10139908

It's the end of the Democratic presidential primary on Democratic Underground, April 9, 2020

If you previously expressed support for Joe Biden in the primaries, your signature line in the DU Primaries forum still shows you as a Biden supporter. If you supported someone else, your signature line now shows you as "Undecided." I encourage everyone go to the DU Candidate Preference page and set your preference to Joe Biden if you have not already done so.

I never set a preference because I wasn't participating in the primaries forum, and intended to vote for our nominee no matter who it was.
