The courts are being packed, the US Attorney General acts as the president's personal lawyer, and the GOP has become the POT -- the Party Of Trump. Their strategy for holding onto power has become inextricably linked to him and his rabid base of support as they go all out on voter suppression while their king rails against mail-in voting during a deadly pandemic, decrying a "totally rigged" election to establish a pretext for holding onto power regardless what happens this November 3rd.

We are in an existential crisis on many levels -- a deadly pandemic, climate change, and racial injustice to name a few -- but first and foremost is the dire threat to our republic and civic institutions by this president and his enablers.

The United States of America, as we once knew it or believed it could be, will not survive another four years of this. The American people are being torn apart while the very worst elements at the highest reaches of our government are doing everything they can to consolidate power in their own hands -- placing themselves and their leader above the law, by becoming the law.

I don't know what will happen. I do know that we have to get souls to the polls in overwhelming numbers on this third of November. Donald Trump, and Trumpism, has to be repudiated and ejected. The heart and soul and the future of America are at stake. All the hopes and dreams we have for our children and their grandchildren depend on this.
