I wonder if we should all

go out in our yards or porches etc and "take a knee" and send our pictures in to let those who are oppressed know that we are with them in solidarity

Yes, a good idea. I Googled a little. There are mentions of celebrity/sportsfolk posting such images to Instagram.

There is a #TakeAKnee on Twitter, running since the 2016 event. Again, celebrities and this week also police kneeling.
