Trump took shelter in White House bunker as protests raged

Secret Service agents rushed President Donald Trump to a White House bunker on Friday night as hundreds of protesters gathered outside the executive mansion, some of them throwing rocks and tugging at police barricades.

Trump spent nearly an hour in the bunker, which was designed for use in emergencies like terrorist attacks, according to a Republican close to the White House who was not authorized to publicly discuss private matters and spoke on the condition of anonymity. The account was confirmed by an administration official who also spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The president and his family have been shaken by the size and venom of the crowds, according to the Republican.

It was not immediately clear if first lady Melania Trump and the couple’s 14-year-old son, Barron, joined the president in the bunker.

While I agree, the safety of the President is no joking matter, know that if this had been Obama or Hillary, the Republicans and FOX News would be going on non stop about how there is no leader of the country because they're in hiding. "What kind of message is it sending that the White House is dark and the President has fled?"

With planes and plots still maybe in the air, he needed to be secured, but yeah, it did last a long time before he surfaced.

Can you imagine if Obama had cut and run from the White House like this? Hannity would have never shut up about it, how this is a low point in American leadership for the White House to have gone dark when the country needed a courageous leader the most.

Trump's supporters love to taunt people that Trump is "your president, too!" Haw, haw, libtards! While Trump advised Gov. Whitmer of Michigan to meet with the angry, armed men who stormed the Capitol last week, Trump can't even look out the window at the citizens petitioning him for redress. Instead, he hides under his bed like a frightened three-year-old during a thunderstorm.

Very presidential.

If so why doesn't he meet them face to face like Biden. Because he's poor excuse for a man. Runs when things get tough.

Nixon went out and talked with demonstrators at the Lincoln Memorial.

In the early hours of May 9, 1970, President Richard Nixon made an unplanned visit to the Lincoln Memorial where
he spoke with anti-war protestors and students for almost two hours.

The protestors were conducting a vigil in protest of Nixon's recent decision to expand the Vietnam War into Cambodia and the recent deaths of students in the Kent State shootings.
