Three or four republicans could speak up and stop this. They own it all.

(15,808 posts)When President Biden is sworn in. All the vacancies will be filled so he'll have to wait for openings. If he gets 50 his first term it will be a miracle.

(4,165 posts)All judges need to be vetted again. Once ever one or two years. All judges at that level should not be able to sit on cases that are clearly biased or a conflict of interest. Review their financials and those of immediate family.

(25,183 posts)it would probably take a constitutional amendment. All it takes is thirteen states to say, "Naw, we can't go along with that," and there's no amendment.

(4,165 posts)How long can we wait for these changes?
I'm so damn tired for some old white man (OWM) to tell us if or when women and people of color deserve the same rights as they do.
Thank you for telling me that my suggestion would require a Constitutional Amendment. How do we get this started?

(25,183 posts)The Constitution was deliberately made difficult to change, that's not a bug, it's a feature. It takes an extreme amount of national consensus to effectuate the passing and ratification of an amendment. We just don't have that kind of ability to achieve consensus any more.
The last two Amendments to be enshrined as part of the Constitution were from ancient history, politically speaking. One was lowering the voting age to eighteen, and that was nearly fifty years ago in the midst of the Vietnam War where people of that age were drafted to kill and get killed for the country that they were not allowed to elect leaders for. The other was ratified nearly thirty years ago, and it had originally been proposed over two centuries earlier. And it wasn't a substantive change that affected everyday Americans, it applied only to Congressional salaries.

(63,221 posts)The DO NOTHING Republicans! They have been doing nothing but projecting all along. We couldn't be in worse shape and they are doing absolutely NOTHING to address any of the problems facing the nation right now. Not one thing!

(12,480 posts)They want slavery back and to abuse people without accountability.
They do not want justice, democracy or fairness.
They want full spectrum domination over anyone they deem a lessor themselves . They have planned this on purpose for decades. Their long game is coming to a head now,the coup goes on.
They've wanted full spectrum domination since this country was founded.

(16,646 posts)It could take 10 - 15 years to make any meaningful dent in the problem. The judges right now can't have their terms of office changed short of a constitutional amendment. They could review how each judge was nominated and look for "irregularities" that might give them cause to remove them from office.

Moscow Mitch wants the RePig Party to last long after he is gone and dead. While we all live under the suppression he creates by delivering Judges intimacy the system and Supreme Court.
