charges are about actual law enforcement, they're not particularly interested in that at the moment.

(24,653 posts)public prosecutor's office is called in that area. Being arrested for something "on the spot" and being officially charged for something can be two completely separate things, if official charges even result from an arrest under such circumstances.

(4,006 posts)Do you think the cops have started shouted at the press on their own? Someone gave that order and it was federal since it all started on one night. Hate the cops for succumbing to bad orders, but its like hating and charging a hit man with murder when it was ordered from above.

(6,254 posts)dismissed, in most States, your criminal record says just that, charge dismissed. It's still a mark against your record which must be expunged which is often complicated and could be be costly. These events just do not disappear, they have consequences. Dismissed doesn't mean disappear.
Didn't know that, not the same here in Canada
