George W Bush

There is a rumor going around that Dubya may endorse Joe Biden. I don't know if there is anything to it but if it happens he may strip away most of the rest of the sane GOP voters, if there is any and further seal the fate of the orange idiot. I will just say about GWB, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

It points to the general fact that Republicans never assume blame for anything that he thinks he can dissociate himself from Trump. No stolen presidency, no Alito, no Roberts. No Citizens United to bring dark money into elections. No dismantling of the Voting Rights Act.

I can't bring myself to like Nicole Wallace for this very reason. Do they not understand that those SCOTUS appointments led to Trump? Do they not care? Or do they just live in a world where people can somehow shuck off the guilt of their actions?

A Bush endorsement might help with Never Trump conservative columnists who were already planning to vote for Biden but I don't think they make up a large share of Republican voters.

He did vote for Trump but understands he's not what he makes himself out to be. An endorsement from W. might swing conservatives like my dad.

I hate his ass as much as any of you, but he would do the country a great service if he does indeed endorse Biden. Many life long republicans are sickened by what they are seeing. Many who won't vote for trump would also not vote for Biden. An endorsement from Bush just might sway them to come out and actually vote for Joe instead of just staying home. The more prominent republicans who take a stand against trump's tyranny, the better chance we have to oust this guy.

WTF? I'll take the endorsement if it actually happens, though I doubt there are many sane Repubs left. Most of them are "Independents" now and probably still anybody but the D these days, anyway.

Whatever.

I joined DU after the 2000 sElection. I remember The Olive Garden in New York City discussion.

The Bush V. Gore decision DEVASTATED me. . It turned me from being just a voter to an activist. I don't see it as me "selling out" and I'm not going to sing W.'s praises. Having said that, if his endorsement will help, I ABSOLUTELY will take it.

Also, most GOP voter couldn’t give two shits about W’s endorsement. Nor do I think Trump would care at all.

In his first statement on the death of Mr Floyd while in police custody more than a week ago, Mr Bush and former first lady Laura Bush said they resisted the urge to speak out as it was not the time to lecture, but to listen.

"It is a strength when protesters, protected by responsible law enforcement, march for a better future," Mr and Mrs Bush said in a joint statement.

"The only way to see ourselves in a true light is to listen to the voices of so many who are hurting and grieving. Those who set out to silence those voices do not understand the meaning of America — or how it becomes a better place."

Congratulations Mr.Bush. You are normal.
