(268,980 posts)1. The question is so why did they turn off all the lights at the WH
as if German bombers were coming?

It was an attempt at crowd intimidation.
The always present on the WH snipers had ostentatiously been moving around, before the lights were turned off

(2,193 posts)5. Note: The darkened whitehouse image is from years ago, apparently.
I'm thinking it's not helpful, there are so many other damning images we can use.

good on them for making corrections....and thanks for pointing it out!
The viral photo, which has been edited, can be found on Getty Images stock website, where it was uploaded in December 2015. In the original, the lantern hanging in the White House portico is lit, along with several lights that surround the fountain in the front lawn.
The edited version that is being widely shared online has been darkened, and manipulated to remove the lit lantern

(783 posts)13. Still doesnt hide the fact
That they did indeed turn the lights off the other night. They were off last night as well. I was watching a live stream and the only lights they had on the grounds were those big portable flood lights, like the ones you see at construction sites, aimed towards the protesters.

Halloween and want to discourage the little beggars.
