(35,332 posts)I saw a billboard this morning in Wheeling WV. Trump and Justice making West Virginia Great Again. He has a TV ad playing
where he is holding a shotgun and shooting clay targets, the 2nd Amendment is the only one Republicans believe in. That's how you get elected in WV shoot a gun in an ad.

Trump came to WV and campaigned against him in 2016.
There is a decent chance he loses the primary to his old Treasury sec, Woody Thrasher next week.

The woman "kind of chimed in." Gee, what a surprise to find misogyny along with his racism. It's so rare that the roiling hostility in bigoted creeps targets both.

... "Gov. Jim Justice is West Virginias richest man. Over the last three decades, lawsuits over unpaid bills have cost his constellation of companies more than $128 million in judgments and settlements.
.........
Among the plaintiffs: a mining equipment company in Virginia, a farm machinery dealer in South Carolina, a bank in Maryland, an insurance company in New York, state tax collectors in Kentucky, and even lawyers and accountants hired by the Justice companies to represent them. Coal miners working for Justice companies have filed at least a half-dozen suits to collect money they said was due to them when they were laid off without legally required warnings or when their paychecks bounced.
.........
Last year, Forbes documented $10 million in payments that courts had ordered Justice companies to make to suppliers, workers and government entities since 2016. The publication also noted a pending $60 million civil case. But ProPublica examined legal records dating back to the start of Justices tenure as CEO of his familys companies, representing the most complete accounting yet of how the corporate empire overseen by the governor often forces those it does business with to sue to get what they are owed.
In multiple cases, plaintiffs had to go back to court to try to collect after either winning a case against a Justice company or settling with the governors empire. More than a dozen suits have been filed against Justice companies since Justice took office in January 2017, and several name the governor as a defendant."...(more)
(Justice bought the Greenbriar, an iconic WV resort/golf property which now includes casino gambling. My guess is that he would love to fill it up with GOP conventioneers, at a time when travel has cratered).
