He may be sending a signal to his peers in the military that it's OK to speak out now. That Trump is close to traveling over "a bridge too far".

And, this may be what you originally implied in your post.

They all waited for way too long but the Con is history so it's safe to defend the Constitution.
Would have been better in year one but I'll take anything these days.
