20% Unemployment

Politico: “The monthly jobs numbers for May, which will be released Friday, are expected to show we’ve reached 20 percent unemployment, and that’s falling particularly hard on minorities. Fewer than half of black adults are now employed, according to Labor Department data.”

“Brace yourself for more jobless claims in the weekly report Thursday morning. Economists are expecting the federal government to announce that around 1.8 million new people filed for unemployment insurance last week.”

This is not good. Just read this part again ...

”Fewer than half of black adults are now employed, according to Labor Department data.”

These are my friends and allies. These are people I care about. And we wonder why there is civil unrest in this country? We are lucky that the civil unrest isn’t worse.

I really don’t know what to say, but this sux.

...are getting pushed off the cliff. And through no fault of their own. Be they minority or not, we forget that many of us live paycheck to paycheck. That was never the plan, no one thinks that is ideal, but life and society as we have constructed it puts people there. I am fortunate to be past the issues of employment and many issues of this pandemic but whenever I need services I always leave a lot of tip, whether that is customary of not. God bless those that serve in whatever capacity!!!! And god bless General Mathis for being the honorable officer and gentleman who could in good and clear conscious speak truth to power as few others of us could.
