US & DT hit headlines in Germany, & probably a lot of other Countries too!

Democracy on the Defensive in Trump's America

Coronavirus, economic collapse and now mass demonstrations for racial equality: The United States is facing a trio of deep crises. Instead of offering leadership, President Donald Trump is exacerbating divisions and showing authoritarian tendencies. With the presidential election still several months away, the country's health is at stake.

I'm sick of this JA embarrassing our Country all over the World. My DIL is from Romania, and when she asks is America always like this, all I can say is NO, and I hope the problem will be gone by January 2021 when a new President is sworn in,

So sad. We used to be admired and now we are nothing but a joke to the rest of the world. Nice going, President Dipshit. It only took you three and a half years to reduce the most powerful nation in the world to a global laughingstock.

This week, I was also in France, Belgium and Switzerland. All are countries whose languages I speak (except Romansch, and I wasn't in Scuol). The people I work with all know that I'm from the USA, so, except for work-related stuff, the subject of conversation is nothing but Frank Zappa's eternal question to Suzy Creamcheese: "Honey, what's got into ya?"
