but it is a 1400 mile round trip to the south side of the Beltway and that pretty much means 3 days away. If I had a weeks worth of warning, I would have gone.

The police in this country are out of fucking control, and if anyone thinks they aren't, and that the way they conduct themselves is the way it should be, then you aren't paying attention.

They most certainly kill Black People at a disproportionate rate, but they also harass and intimidate and violate the rights of ALL citizens on a regular basis, and they fucking lie through their teeth about such things as a matter of course.

i've seen huge crowds in San Francisco, Chicago, Philly, DC - peaceful protests. These protests are not going away. This gives me the most hope of all.

I wish I could be there. I even wish I didn't feel so scared about how many of them will end up sick because they went there. But I so love that they are there.

Those of us who refuse to have Twitter accounts can still see a link on a desktop, but not on iPad/iPhone.

And I always post text... except this one time.

Virtually every time I try, I get the “something went wrong, try again” message. Doesn’t work on any of my devices, or my friends’ without twitter accounts, except once in a blue moon.

Wasn’t directing at anyone in particular, BTW. Just the general trend here on DU.

Then if I get that message and press 'try again' it loads fine. It's so random and I can't figure it out either, but that's my workaround. I envy people who can see embedded tweets. I have the settings allowed in my browser, I've checked to make sure there's not a filter in my ad blocker and it's still an issue.

For me, it’s over 90% failure with random moments of luck.
