https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/06/us/politics/trump-biden-republicans-voters.html?smid=tw-share"Former President George W. Bush and Senator Mitt Romney wont support Mr. Trumps re-election, and other G.O.P. officials are mulling a vote for Joe Biden.
Former President George W. Bush wont support the re-election of Mr. Trump, and Jeb Bush isnt sure how hell vote, say people familiar with their thinking. Senator Mitt Romney of Utah wont back Mr. Trump and is deliberating whether to again write in his wife, Ann, or cast another ballot this November. And Cindy McCain, the widow of Senator John McCain, is almost certain to support Mr. Biden but is unsure how public to be about it because one of her sons is eying a run for office.
None of them voted for Mr. Trump in 2016, but the reproach of big Republican names carries a different weight when an incumbent president and his shared agenda with Senate leaders are on the line.
Former Republican leaders like the former Speakers Paul D. Ryan and John A. Boehner wont say how they will vote, and some Republicans who are already disinclined to support Mr. Trump are weighing whether to go beyond backing a third-party contender to openly endorse Mr. Biden. Retired military leaders, who have guarded their private political views, are increasingly voicing their unease about the presidents leadership but are unsure whether to embrace his opponent."

I don't fault Michelle Obama for getting chummy with him; she's a class act.

(12,871 posts)Poem I wrote for GW when he left office:
I'd tell you to go fuck yourself
But that is much too kind
If you could perform that feat
You'd take pleasure in your behind
I'd like to say eat shit and die
But you deserve much more
You should suffer all the grief and pain
Of your misbegotten war
Though I can never make you think
Or feel, or understand
I'll take solace when you hear your name
Cursed throughout the land
From inside a lonely prison cell
Dark and bare and cold
Where every day you pay for your crimes
Until you're sick, heartbroken, and old
When you finally leave the earth
You fucked over oh so well
If there is a God and afterlife
You're going straight to hell.

It is sad that there is no accountability for the leaders of this country.

(4,241 posts)In these times, you could just run on being a decent human being and that would eclipse voting for a Democrat. My favorite phrase to say during March - May was, "I don't know." It worked in many circumstances and I found it leaving my lips an uncomfortable number of times. This pattern has shifted and now I find myself saying all the time, "How hard is this?" These "wavering" nincompoops need to ask themselves that and simplify their approach. This is not difficult, but they bend themselves into knots to show how they feel it is. Jesu.
