I realize there are plenty of reasons to think cops are Scum right now, but I think it's a bit much to imply that they did not harm this "suspect," because he's white. The guy killed at least one of their fellow officers. I'm sure they probably wanted to do lots of things to his person. I sincerely doubt the fact he's white had anything to do with their restraint in this particular matter.

They had him in cuffs, and in case you didn't notice, he was surrounded by quite a few heavily armed cops, not to mention there looks like a dog, who might have already had a grip on him.

Sorry, but for me, seeing cops doing their jobs correctly, does not make me think they necessarily would have done it incorrectly had a black man been involved. Sometimes they simply act like they're supposed to act when arresting someone.

"Sorry, but for me, seeing cops doing their jobs correctly, does not make me think they necessarily would have done it incorrectly had a black man been involved." And you are 100% right to say so. There are probably thousands of cases where they did it correctly that involved a black man. However, it sure seems to me that whenever they do it incorrectly, and there are thousands of cases where they didn't that don't make the headlines, more often than not there's a black man involved.

the people who, like clockwork, quickly jump in to piss all over any discussion about police brutality against blacks with "how dare you demonize the police" and "why don't you ever talk about all the times police DON'T kill black people" pushbacks are often the same ones who consistently hijack conversations about systemic racism and white privilege with "not all white people" distractions?

Yet, these same people rarely bother to actually engage in any discussions about racism except to defend white people and police against being accused of it?

Priorities and perspective, I guess. Or maybe something else.

a factor in this case or that case actually fighting racism where they believe it IS a factor (and not just where they think black people are being unfair to whites), they'd be taken a lot more seriously as allies in the cause and not have people wondering what their true agenda is.

That is what the OP was about: More police brutality. So much pretzel logic these days.
For the case it wasn't clear, the point of the OP wasn't to ask for more police violence. It was the opposite by contrasting the treatment of an actual killer to innocent people getting murdered by psycho cops. When murderers can get arrested without anything happening to them, maybe the police can do the same for those who haven't done anything or who are brought in for questioning without publicly lynching them.

And btw, Floyd was in cuffs as well, surrounded by 4 cops, 3 of them sitting on him, torturing him while ironically waiting for medical assistance.

The guy killed at least one of their fellow officers. I'm sure they probably wanted to do lots of things to his person. I sincerely doubt the fact he's white had anything to do with their restraint in this particular matter.

Killed a police officer while white. If they had wanted to do anything with this person they would have. Lot's of things, yet did not.

They had him in cuffs, and in case you didn't notice, he was surrounded by quite a few heavily armed cops, not to mention there looks like a dog, who might have already had a grip on him.

DID YOU notice that George was in cuffs as well and surrounded by quite a few heavily armed cops slammed his face down onto the pavement with his face bleeding?
Oh a dog MIGHT have already had a grip on him?
?? WTGF?! George, the black man not white had one officer kneeling on his neck, KNEELLING ON HIS NECK, a second with two knees in his back and another had his weight on his legs... 8 MINUTES AND 46 SECONDS as he said I can't breathe, I can't breathe. Then he called for his mama and died.

See the DIFFERENCE!???? Do Not Tell Me They Were Treated The Same!

Too bad they didn't think about that for the last several decades while they were beating protesters and it wasn't on the national news 24/7 and stop doing it before people actually discovered what they do to protesters. I am so sick of hearing them whine about how everybody thinks they're evil. Well, pal, if you don't want people to think you're evil, stop committing or excusing evil acts. They could have turned in their buddies instead of turning a blind eye or falsifying reports for them, they could have been doing the right thing all along and they chose not to. They work for us, we aren't here for them to take their sadistic war fantasies out on and if they don't like it they can find new jobs.

You know how it goes right?
if you have 100 cops on a police force and 3 are bad and 97 cops who look the other way or cover for them you actually have 100 bad cops.
That's how it works
Until all the "good cops" clear out and hold accountable all the "bad ones" they're all bad.

94% based on data collected BEFORE what's happening now. Virtually all of it white male power extremism. We now know that Timothy McVeigh was connected to America's white power network, as have most others been.

Btw, the old saying is that LW extremists blow up buildings, RW extremists blow up people.

At 2% of all violent terrorist acts, it'd also be on point to say that LW extremists mostly just blow up Democratic Party elections when they can.
