And I double dare anyone to attempt a defense of this fuckwit. For me this is personal. I had to put up with his self aggrandizing bullshit for the first 18 years of my fucking life. For SDAs Carson is constantly (but very, very quietly) held up as evidence that they aren't racist (every SDA on the planet owns several copies of Gifted Hands) even though Carson himself is a rich old racist, sexist, neoconservative white man in literally every single way except skin color.

I don't know which group is more hypocritical, Southern Baptists or Seventh Day Adventists. They've both worked at it tremendously hard for over a hundred years and I think both should be recognized as global leaders in this particular field.

Plus they're kind of/sort of exactly the same.

If you were an alien visiting this planet you'd need help figuring out how the two groups are different.

- Hypocrisy on a level never before seen anywhere in human history. No, seriously, this is finger lickin' hypocrisy. Nobody does it better.

- Powerful, deep seated hatred... except we call it love, except when it refers to anything we claim god hates, which, in a strange coincidence, just happens to be everything outside of our cult.

- The foundational belief that "god will one day torture and destroy all of our enemies", which, in another odd coincidence, are also all people outside of our cult, and we believe that god is going to do this to demonstrate his love for us... somehow.
