General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsOn 6/4, San Diego County had an increase of 240 new cases. This is the highest 1 day increase ...
since the pandemic started.
We are averaging about 3.5% death rate.
So 240 new cases is approximately 8.4 deaths.
Our 7 day average of new cases is currently at 140 new cases a day.
On May 10th the peak of the San Diego pandemic, we had a 7 day average of new cases of 145.
Since May 10th, the 7 day average of new cases had been slowly dropping until May 31st when we were at 108.
In the 5 days since May 31st, we have increased the 7 day average of new cases to 140.
That is approximately about 5 (4.9)deaths per day or about 34 (34.3) deaths per week.
I believe these are the Memorial Day numbers kicking in, but the state is planning on moving to Stage 3 of openings tomorrow which include opening the following:
- Gyms
- Bars & Wineries
- Museums
- Pro Sports with spectators
- Day camps
- Campgrounds and RV Parks
- Family entertainment like bowling alleys, batting cages and theaters
- Card rooms and Racetracks
- Music, Films and TV Production
I believe the Memorial Day numbers are going to appear like peanuts compared to what is heading our way.

They stopped updating it on Thursday after it spiked to 240 and have removed the link from the website - it used to be the first link on this page:
