Last time around we had this problem, there were some good ideas floated. Concentrated hot sauce (like your idea) might stay latent just long enough for someone to rub their eye or decide to go pee.

or the stuff in a can - spread it on the frame and any black areas of the sign. that stuff will not come off without a lot of work and it spreads to whatever is touched. I had sign stealers a while back - one guy would brazenly take the sign out of my yard right in front of me. Drive up in his truck, grab the sign and take off. So I made a wood frame out of 2 x 4" for the sign and coated the wood with tar. It looked just like black paint. I never saw the guy pull up the sign, but I did see the sign left laying in the grass with handprints on the frame. And I never had one pulled up again. My bet is he got the tar on his hands then got it on the door of his truck then the steering wheel and probably his clothes too.

I swear, if you get it on a fingerrtip, it'll crawl up your arm! Mechanic's "anti-sieze" compound is about as bad, but it's silver colored, great for those wire sign posts.

We've had to drive by a house with a Trump flag and "Thank You America" sign for three years. I always wondered what their neighbors thought until this last Christmas when they (the neighbors) spray-painted their window in spray-on snow: Feliz Navidad. I laughed for ten minutes.

That's the deep-seated fear that motivates so many of those sorts of people now. They cannot abide the idea of a world where black people really enjoy fair treatment under the law (including a lot of the socially accepted unwritten laws) because they feel that it diminishes their own standing somehow.

Some people simply cannot live with themselves unless they have someone to look down upon. To shore up the ideas in their head, they seek out images and information--this includes TV shows and news content--that shows black people behaving in ways that fit with their idea of a "low-class" identity. And a black person who behaves and speaks and dresses or what-not in a way that conforms to "higher-class", or "elite", or just plain respectable standards sets off a deep, sick fire in their souls.

Thus, Barak Obama is an elitist snob who is mocked on Fox news for liking dijon mustard, and Michelle Obama--a tall, clearly strong woman with defined arm muscles (gasp!)--is likened to "an ape in high heels".

Such small-minded haters desperately need to have it both ways. Blacks are low and unclean and uncouth--except when they're not--then they're uppity.

A Dump lover has a Dump flag up, and the neighbor across the road has put up a Biden 2020 flag.
