The Jefferson Davis Monument State Historic Site is a Kentucky state park commemorating the birthplace of Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederate States of America, in Fairview, Kentucky. The site's focal point is a 351-foot (107.0 m) concrete obelisk.[2] In 1973, it was believed to be the fourth-tallest monument in the United States and the tallest concrete-cast one.

Why is this Washington Monument in miniature allowed to exist?

(38,958 posts)1. It could be renamed to something else
have an official ceremony and strip away all of the reference to the Traitor Jefferson Davis.

Its different from a statue, so a rededication should be sufficient.

Cirque du So-What
(25,947 posts)4. Yep
An ascendant KKK and revisionists conspired to commemorate all things confederate in the 20s.

but you can picnic there or kids have a playground to use for feel goods about Jefferson Davis
I doubt it will go down maybe a push to rededicate it
Its maintained by the Kentucky Department of Parks
