Parking - Feds have a problem and other urban workplaces may too

Conference call this morning. One of my coworkers visited a Federal facility in Northern Virginia.

25% of the personnel are back on site but the parking lot is 100%. If at all possible people are avoiding using mass transit (buses and the Metro) and driving to work. One of the planners said this was going to slow down their return schedule considerably.

I had not considered that.

More than half the population doesn't own a car. Parking is non-existent or expensive. And major streets will grind to a halt if the subway isn't being used.
