I could be tired, distressed, upset, drunk, or whatever and I know I would never go on a racist rant BECAUSE I AM NOT A RACIST. To be racist you have to believe you are superior to other people which floors me because these folk constantly prove themselves to be incredibly STUPID.

Much like the brainwashed right-wing, it will take much more than one job firing to root that extreme racism out of her heart.

One reply to the article was appropriate: Social Suicide By Phone.

This is not just another racist video even! This is beyond most exposed racists. She even says “Kill them all.” This is advocating literal genocide, and unforgivable. Contrary to her opinion, Black Lives Matter!

I read the Twitter thread, and somebody shared a post by her, where I think it looks like she supports the idea of the elimination of all Chinese people. She is a disgusting person.

in the memory of an old acquaintance, Friedelind Wagner, grand daughter of the composer. She was a sponsor of my step sister who had a career in opera. I met Friedlind way back in the late '60s. Both she and my step sis passed away many years ago.

Btw, although the Wagner family was quite friendly with Hitler, Friedlind opposed the policies of the Third Riech and moved away from Germany for the duration of Hitler's regime. Her book, "Heritage of Fire" explains her politics.

It was the first time I saw the Ring in performance since becoming interested in Wagner's music the year before.

I'm glad to know that she was anti-Nazi. She seemed like a sweet old lady. I would have been dismayed if she had been pro-Nazi.

hosted by Wagner's son Siegfried and wife Winifred. They were as friendly with Hitler as anyone could be after he rose to power.

Friedelind's association with my step sister, Soprano, Ella Lee caused her to be our house guest occasionally when she visited the U.S. in the late '60s-early 70s. I didnt discuss politics with her because we were always passing each other, she always was in and out with her briefcase.

I never suspected Friedelind of being a racist-nazi because she helped Ella get her career in opera started AND, we're an African American family.

It wasn't until a few years ago that I discovered her family's history with Hitler.

26. Wagner was a bit of an enigma when it comes to his anti-Semitism.

You know how we all despise bigots who say "Some of my best friends are..."? Wagner was one of them, only he actually lived it. Despite his anti-Semitic writings, he knew, respected, and advocated for, several Jewish conductors. His wife Cosima (daughter of Franz Lizt), however, was a truly nasty piece of anti-Semitic work. She must have been a real harridan to be around.

Anyway, as backward as his thinking was on people of the Jewish faith, he was actually fairly forward-thinking when it came to women's rights. Former Seattle Opera General Director Speight Jenkins makes a pretty good case for Richard Wagner being a staunch supporter of women's rights even in the hidebound, conservative Victorian era. How one chooses to square this with his incessant womanizing is another story.

Thanks for cluing me in on R. Wagner's stance on women's rights. I throughly enjoy his music just as much as I do the plays and sonnets of Shakespeare.

During these times of being a shut in, I have renewed my appreciation for the arts.

Have a lovely day and take care
