We can only hope this will lead to a severe drop off in voting from them......Heck of a way to try and upstage us, lol.

(19,114 posts)Protesting people being given the chance to participate in our democracy by mail instead of in person by taking that own opportunity away from themselves.
This group is dumb.

To vote. My husband and I , at age 69 and 68, have always voted in person, partially because our voting place was so close we could walk the dogs over and vote. Generally more poll workers than voters. Couple of years ago they moved us to another place, too far to walk to but still, more poll workers than voters. I always felt better voting in person, didnt want my mail in ballot to be found in a box of ballots shoved in a closet some. We just got our application for mail in and I think this year might be the first year we vote via mail. I just wish Michigan would change its counting policy to not have to wait until the actual Election Day to count the ballots. The SOS wants to change it but we still have a Republican house and senate in Michigan so thats not going anywhere.

(28,349 posts)I'm 68. This will be the first Absentee Ballot for me, too.
I'd prefer to vote in person, but I can't chance the Covid-19. I've always felt good about voting. You know, being a good citizen doing my civic duty. It sounds so corny, but I really do believe that.
I once thought my 2000 Presidential vote was the most important vote I could ever make. But we all know that this November will be the very most critical vote in the history of our country. It's a vote we've been entrusted to continue and perfect what our founding fathers started.
