A new book released this Monday is compiled of 30 essays written by evangelical leaders imploring white evangelicals to rethink their support for President Trump, The Christian Post reports.
The book, titled, The Spiritual Danger of Donald Trump: 30 Evangelical Christians on Justice, Truth, and Moral Integrity, also warns of the damage done to how Americans perceive evangelicals as a result of their alliance with Trumps messaging.
The book is not a book to tell people how to vote, Sider continued. It is a book to call people to think biblically about this election and about the character of candidates.
Were not just left-wing Democrats, he said. We are a whole range of views begging American white evangelicals to ask this simple question: Does Donald Trumps behavior and policies fit with or contradict biblical norms?

(12,858 posts)State the Trump not a 'good Christian' , but he's 'done great things for the country preserving the Judeo Christisn heritage' Sanctity of life, ie antiabortion'
Absolute conviction that Democrats are anti-Christian---defining Christian solely as anti-homosexuality and anti-abortion
I really don't see how we can talk to them
I grew up in SoBapt churches. In last yrs I've done a lot if reading and discovered how horrifically badly so-called Christian leaders have interpreted the OT and NT
Bible has no passages attacking abortion. The v few verses read as anti-homosexuality are mistranslations of specific words used.
See slacktivist blog at patheos for history of how Weyrich et al shifted Evangelicals to antiabortion in 70s to get troops for GOP
And event in Acts where God tells Peter not to consider anything he ie God has made as 'unclean'
gratuitous
