I've maintained all along that we don't know much of anything about his mother and that his relationship with his mother scarred him equally as much as the one with his father. He probably felt betrayed by her because a mother is supposed to protect their child and maybe she didn't. She went along with shipping him off to military school and who knows whose decision it was to do that.

Either way, someone as mentally damaged as he is most certainly had a traumatic childhood.
