Live blog of opinions - Thursday, June 18, 2020

We will be live-blogging on Thursday, June {18}, as the Supreme Court releases opinions from the 2019 term. SCOTUSblog is sponsored by Casetext, the most intelligent way to search the law.

{Edited, as the text says that Thursday is June 20. That's a typo. Thanks to ronatchig for pointing that out.}

It was like that yesterday too. I should go back and note that the reference to the 20th is a mistake.

Thanks for noticing that.

I don't feel hopeful about either one of them.

He will go absolutely nuts. It'll be interesting. My guess is that the way he reacted to the gay rights case, he knows the decision is going to be favorable to him. It seemed like he was kissing their ass.

Trump doesn't care one way or the other about gay rights. He does what he does to throw a bone to the base. Period.

But he does care about himself. And maybe only himself.

The first opinion will be released at 10AM. There may be more than one opinion released, but there could also be only one.

Things can show up there almost instantly.

Robert Barnes' account is worth watching:

To show respect for the Supreme Court on decision days, I wear a shirt with a collar. Today at 10: DACA? Abortion? Religious issues? #Scotus #WFH #nophotos
