Trump is dangerous and vile and only serves himself and his interest. I disagreed with him every step of the way.
Democrats are mean, stupid and partisan. Which is why I didn't just bring this to the forefront during impeachment. Their focus was too narrow. They should have know what I knew already!
I resigned and was not fired!!!
The country won't survive another 4 years of Trump.
So long, and thanks for all the fish! Enjoy your Covid pandemic under the rule of an idiot, and buy my book! 👋

(5,332 posts)His answers were carefully thought out in advance and the questions were probably agreed on before the interview even took place. He was there for one reason and one reason only. To sell books. He'll be on all the shows for a week or so and then he'll drop out of the public eye and count his money. He is a self serving asshole like every other republican.
Still, I'd rather he wrote the book vs not writing it. I certainly won't be buying a copy.

That's when I wanted to throw a brick through the TV. He just had to say it in that condescending tone, like, "OMG, I'd NEVER vote for a Democrat."
Two narcissistic assholes at the highest levels of our country - Trump and Bolton. If you know anything about narcissists it's that they do manage to get to very high levels in whatever career they're in, mostly due to their hubris. He's no exception. He'll be a footnote in history and Trump will be known only for being the worst president we ever had. They deserved each other.

(31,062 posts)Unless youre voting for Biden, your voting for trump. And that includes not voting at all. The only way to not vote for trump is to vote for Biden. Im dismayed that Bolton has been in government most of his life and still doesnt understand our political system. The reason he didnt testify, is that he didnt want to help the Democrats. Doesnt care about whats good for the country.

Oh, and Democrats are wrong. Always and on everything. They should have known the intimate details he and perhaps a handful of others in the inner circle saw.
Too bad on we proles out there. Suck it up, he truly doesn't care. He's banking on his book and we're stuck with the mess he wouldn't wade into because he's too partisan to stand up for our democracy.

(22,890 posts)field of the Ukraine investigation. They did so because it was clearly illegal, clearly contradicted Trump's oath of office, and was clearly unconstitutional. Broadening the investigation to every one of Trump's numerous crimes and misdemeanors would have provided far too many opportunities for Republicans to take issue with impeachment on the narrow grounds of disagreeing with any single charge. If Republicans wouldn't find Trump guilty of the charges in the Ukraine affair, they wouldn't find him guilty no matter what the charges and evidence. Of course, Bolton knows that, and is just trying to persuade conservatives that he is still one of them. In fact, he is.

(854 posts)He knows damned well that if the Dems had pursued all of this by issuing subpoenas and what not, and waiting for these to be adjudicated through the courts, it would have taken a couple of years for a final result. The concern was valid to a point, but the time required because of the workings of the court system would have rendered the whole proceeding moot. We'd still be waiting for decisions from the courts to get these individuals to appear in front of the House. Given the upcoming election and what Dump was attempting to do, speed was of the essence.
It irritates the heck out of me that this little fact never gets mentioned in the reporting for the events of the impeachment. If you can't get reasonably quick remediation from the courts, what's the point? Particularly within a two-year election cycle. Certainly there needs to be some solution to this type of stuff going forward. Getting your witnesses to appear a year or more after the fact is useless, particularly for a lawless ass like Dump.
