It is my understanding that the majority of the vote of 1.1 million is in mail in ballots about 800,000 and we won't know the results for about a week?? How can you go by just the in person ballots?

but practically no votes from Jefferson or Fayette County are in yet, although I agree the odds are against whoever the nominee is defeat McConnell, but if the numbers you are citing are the early returns you would expect McConnell or any republican to be ahead this early. The numbers from Louisville and Lexington may not be in until next week.

...no way I'd let an elderly family member of mine (or myself for that matter) go to the polls and stand in those long lines risking contracting COVID.

We'll continue to lose states like KY as long as those with us with the means to change things sit back and let the disenfranchised stay disenfranchised.

in most southern states Democrats count on the black population to help win.

we don't have that here.

Not that I’d be shocked for there to be more McConnel voters, but early returns are often very uneven and lopsided, especially when there’s a big difference between rural and urban reporting speed.
