Honestly, I don't see why Biden should debate Trump at all.

You can't debate liars. Or idiots. Or lying idiots. Showing where Trump is "wrong" in reasoning is a fool's errand. It's obvious to everyone with an ounce of grey matter in their heads that he only cares about himself. There is no "reasoning" going on there, and you're not going to "catch" him on anything. He'll just make things up to rationalize his way out of it.

He's wrong every day, twenty times per day. That's who he is. And 40% of Americans don't care.

Biden ought to just find a cabin out in the middle of nowhere and stay there until November 4th. Stay safe, no risks, no anything. Just let Trump continue to destroy himself.

Just repeatedly say that and that he was babbling nonsense and lies. And then pivot to a smart complete sentence.

Then do it again

And Again

And Again

Never stop.

There you go again lying and making no sense at all. My health care plan...

I would drum that theme home until trump storms off the stage.

Every reply starts with trump is lying and makes no sense.

What is there to debate? This is a fight for the soul of this republic. The choices are clear. There’s no reason for Vice President Biden to demean himself by appearing on stage with an orangutan.

are way too nice to do this, but, if it were me, I'd get some people who have serious experience in this and figure out some ways of making him look like the fucking idiot he is. Like anticipate questions, anticipate stupid comments, and so forth, and have responses ready. Responses that'll really make him come unglued. Responses that the GOP and Fox will not be able to spin. Responses that'll make even conservatives who're watching go, WTF!!!!!

Of, course, that won't happen.

We need to learn from history. Washington won the war because the British were fighting the old-fashioned way, but he didn't have the resources. So he and his army fought mostly a guerrilla war. Another lesson lost during Viet Nam.

If Biden tried to pull out of them, it would hurt him. I think that as long as the notion is that they wouldn't be disastrous for him, then they should do them. I think that he would probably come out on top in them, even though Trump's supporters will exaggerate anything like stumbling on his words into he is entering into dementia.

He found a way to pretend to do something meaningful instead of risking a debate humiliation.

human being and lacks the killer instinct, but I wish he would treat that first debate like one of those roasts on Comedy Central. Get the best team of comedy writers together and have them write the most devastating, cutting, humiliating, and hilarious "Trump Roast" imaginable and have Joe present that as his opening remarks. Just blind-side him with one zinger after another and watch Trump have a melt-down on stage.

This scenario won't happen, and I actually agree with those who think there should not be a presidential debate at all. Trump is not a real president. He's not. He's bat-shit crazy and everyone knows it and he's just one tumble down a ramp away from a complete physical and mental breakdown. Plus, he has never taken the role of president seriously, and he therefore does not deserve to be treated as a serious presidential candidate.

Ridicule is the one thing a bully can't stand. Trump thrives on people hating him, being pissed at him, hurling invective at him; it's all just climbing into the mud to wrestle a pig.

Laugh at him, get people laughing at him, THAT hurts, that will wound him in every sense of the word.

Dems still believe the middle can be won over with their word, they can't.

The middle can be won over using the words of the opposition against them, the Lincoln Project is 100% perfect at this.

All Biden would have to do would be to come out on the stage and say, "I'm not Donald Trump. What else could you possibly need to know?"

With that, the debate would be won already.

He needs to appear sharp and be well prepared in order to counter the 'senile Joe' narrative, also to provide a stark contrast between well thought out adult policy ideas and the blatherings of the current White House occupant.

America needs to see what steady leadership would look like, not just be told about it.

Also, Trump is having a really hard time attacking a white guy...so much easier when it was a woman.

If DEMs get to a double landslide (>20 pts) position in the polls by early October, nothing to be gained. Also, if Biden will tease with maybe he will debate but has not decided yet, he can then move into Trump's head and occupy the entire space.
