68% Of Jacksonville Residents Surveyed Don't Want GOP Convention; Biden Leading In Duval 48-41

EDIT

If the presidential election were held now, 41 percent of respondents said they would vote for Trump, while 48 percent chose the prospective Democratic nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden. In 2016, Trump received 48.5 percent of Duval County’s votes, winning the county by a margin of fewer than 6,000 against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

The UNF Public Opinion Research Lab surveyed 2,524 registered voters in Duval County from June 17-22 using online survey platform Qualtrics about topics ranging from the convention to the coronavirus pandemic and from Confederate monuments to the upcoming election.

UNF weighted data by partisan registration, age, race, sex, education and geography. The margin of error is plus or minus 1.95 percentage points.

Of those polled, 28 percent strongly supported the city hosting the convention, while 14 percent said they somewhat supported it, 11 percent somewhat opposed it and 47 percent strongly opposed it.
