have a ground game.

This could be a factor we are not considering.

Because we are being responsible we aren't going door to door.

I actually get offended when someone I don't know knocks on my door these days. A guy came by about a week ago, and I didn't open the door, but opened my office window and told him I wasn't interested. I was polite, but what I really wanted to do was shout, "Don't you know we're in a pandemic???? Get off my porch." But of course I realize that he was just trying to get by.

We just need to find other ways to get through to everyone. Maybe we should run ads saying we're respecting everyone's well-being by NOT going door-to-door.

WE have the votes and we just need to make sure people actually go vote which so far they have been doing in a primary which tends to be lower . So it looks good for the GE.

So the most important thing is making sure they get to actually vote and it be counted.

WE need to keep a watch on Barr and Republicans around the country and what they are doing.

if we have the record high turnout much harder to suppress the vote, I only see its a matter to how huge the blue tidal wave will be

yet we seemed to be surprised at the last moment by the tactics used in GA and KY within the last couple of weeks. Why is that? Were we not aware that KY was going to close thousands of polling places for this week’s primaries? Is this what we have to expect in Nov?

3. The future is uncertain

What if the virus fades away so very few are dying by Labor Day? Tens of millions will probably return to work. Trump will say he is the biggest job creator in history, and that will be true, in a sense. He can run on beating covid and beating unemployment. Or maybe when the booster $600 per week unemployment ends tens of millions will be evicted, have their cars repossessed, have credit cards cancelled. So Trump loses by 20. I see the future as unpredictable.

Something could come out of the blue (or red I should perhaps say). A major terrorist attack in the U.S. or a few high profile horrific crimes, a few weeks before the election, by undocumented migrants who allegedly were "sheltered" from ICE, or whatever. That is the nature of the unknown, uncertainty. None of us saw coming the FBI reopening an investigation into Hillary a few weeks before the election.

Of course late breaking events can just as easily further damage Trump. He is in serious trouble and in general I think the OP is correct. The only thing we can do in the face of uncertainties is organize and GOTV, particularly the early vote, to lock in opposition to Trump.

wishful thinking. And even if so, the economy is not going to be "back." A lot of the job losses are permanent.

Thu Jun 25, 2020, 11:22 AM
Jun 2020

Because it fell so much in quarter 2. The economy will still suck Oct 1 but it will not suck as much as July 1. Trump will have economic statistics showing quarter 3 having the biggest gdp grow in history and the biggest job gain in history. Now that’s only because when you dive from the high board you first go 15 feet deep and then you rise to only 5 feet deep. You are still underwater but you have made progress. Now will those record “gains” in quarter 3 make Trump a hero? If you know you are smarter than I am.

It will tighten at times, but there is a chance that it could be like a dam breaking, people really hate Trump and that can snowball.

When they see that Joe Biden is winning, they'll jump on board too. I think that reasoning is stupid, but I'll take it anyway. Getting OrangeAss out is too important.

...we can't take anything, and I mean anything for granted. This needs to be a blow-out of Reagan - Mondale like proportions. So, no, his lead will not grow. It's going to get tighter. Much tighter. That's the attitude we must approach this with.

Worrying that one tempts karma by feeling very positive about our chances does nothing but give you agita.

Worrying that the race will tighten does nothing but upset the person doing the worrying UNLESS that worry gets translated into positive action that 1. Starts with the worrier making sure they cast their vote come hell or high water, AND 2. said worrier does all they can to PROACTIVELY get out the vote OF PEOPLE WHO DON’T NORMALLY VOTE, and to do their best to get them to vote for Biden.
