Which has pretty much been the recommendation all along. It just has a tooth or two now.

Can't speak to the others on the list.

Researchers say wearing face masks in public prevented between 230,000 and 450,000 new cases of COVID-19 infections during a five-week period this spring, strengthening the argument of those in favor of mandatory face masks for anyone out in public in the United States.

The study, published in the journal Health Affairs, said wearing face masks reduced the daily number of coronavirus infections by as much as 2% in states that require masks to be worn in public.

The argument about the need to wear face masks has been a muddled one. Originally, U.S. health officials told people not to wear masks, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention along with the U.S. surgeon general changed course in April and recommended that masks be worn in public to help slow the transmission of COVID-19.

That is the most critical factor. Doesn’t mean squat if it doesn’t have some teeth behind it.

my experience is that majority of people here are following the order. I think that is why are numbers are improving.

My husband did tell me about one total a-hole that was at Food Lion. He was with two older kids. None of them had a mask. Oh and the guy had a gun strapped across his chest. 🙄 He is an exception to the rule. A huge majority of people are wearing their masks...

We have signs outside business explicitly stating that masks are required to enter. Businesses I see are strictly enforcing the law by making it their rules.

I've seen few if any nincompoops trying to defy the law, but they're the hardcore Trumpanzees.

Why? Because we have a stupid self-serving (R) governor.

...once inside a place (no bars/restaurants open today for inside use) is a different story but most still comply.

Now tomorrow, 6/26/20, we can go inside any bar or restaurant. It remains to be seen then how many will still use a mask or distance.

Btw, my right-leaning gal pal thinks our Governor Pritzker is a real hero for his actions to save IL residents of the worst of the virus.

One of the stores I stopped at was WalMart and it wasn't as busy as it usually was before COVID-19 and about half the customers were wearing masks, including me. Another interesting thing was the number of employees gathering items for pickup.

OC Sheriffs will not enforce mask mandate.
Thanks for caring, Sheriff Barnes. You could have worded it so the public would at least respect the mandate. But then, you are probably a Trump supporter, so what else can we expect.
