(5,313 posts)No need to be distracted from the only thing that matters, defeating trump and all republicans across the board. Defeat trump and Barr simply becomes collateral damage.

(6,240 posts)My plastic-wrap (ran out of tinfoil) conspiracy theory is that these two were in cahoots. They are too close to pull something like this on each other.
Nadler said he wants to impeach. Wait a day to get reactions. A lot of people are for it. Now Pelosi says no. Admits the problem but also admits it'll probably fizzle. So she reminds people to vote. And reinforces the need to get rid of him.
Nadler and Pelosi are politicians with long experience. They don't shoot from the hip. They know what they're doing.

(18,486 posts)She didn't say impeachment won't or can't happen. But she's not publicly going to give Republicans any opportunity saying she's obsessed with impeaching Barr. And she's correctly trying to keep our team's eye on the prize.
She surely knows impeachment talk right now is a distraction that would actually undermine investigations at this point.
