A Republican New York State Supreme Court Justice is being accused by his neighbors of getting into a brawl with them that resulted in one of them getting bit by the judges wife.
Local news station WKBW reports that Joseph and Gina Mele were accosted by New York State Supreme Court Justice Mark Grisanti and his wife, Maria, after they had allegedly parked their truck in an improper location....
They started swearing, Move this f*cking truck, Mele said. Mark and Maria came over, onto our property, in our driveway my husband came down from the porch, Maria physically pushed my husband, she punched my husband in the face. I came off the porch, told her not to touch my husband, and she bit my husbands arm and would not release.
Joseph Mele, who was hospitalized after the brawl, confirmed that bite marks left on his arm came from Maria Grisanti.

(37,748 posts)As for pseudoscience, tell us again about these alleged (though wholly unsupported) social upheavals over signs in stores about the requirement of shoes and shirts, professor.
Or simply pretend that being held the standard of one's own words is actually being victimized by stalking.
I'm guessing the second...as it allows for very creative sanctimony.

Should we all get vaccinations? Would requiring muzzles be a potential protection for the rest of us?

(60,010 posts)That's trend that we don't want to see.
Once AIDS was declared a real thing, some cities/states passed a law against doing anything that would transmit it, like spitting at a cop.

(9,177 posts)the trial court. It has an appellate division, which is the intermediate appellate court (he doesnt sit on that bench). The highest appellate court, what is usually the Supreme Court, is the New York Court of Appeals.
In other words, hes a trial judge. For now.

Grisanti, a Republican, lost his senate seat to Democrat Marc Panepinto in 2014 but was appointed to a Court of Claims judgeship by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2015.
The post came with a $174,000 salary, and Grisanti now serves in an acting capacity as a State Supreme Court judge.

Grisanti was injured in a 2012 scuffle at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls in which he said he and his wife were attacked and beaten during a confrontation with members of the Seneca Nation of Indians. He was a New York State Senator at the time.

(38,313 posts)... even when the homeowner takes care of it.
And typically in neighborhoods like this with narrow streets and shallow curbs, people will park up on, or even past the curb a bit so that passing cars won't hit them.
"Get off my lawn!" is an especially stupid argument when it's not your lawn.
If asking people to move their cars nicely doesn't work, the next step is to call the city. Maybe they'll send someone out to write parking tickets, maybe not.
I live in a higher density neighborhood that doesn't have enough parking spaces on the street. It's especially crowded now that so many people are furloughed from work, and so many young adult children have had to return to the nest. Our neighbor has a kid who had to move back home from college in March. Their car has been parked in front of our house for a long time. I'm not going to complain about that, but maybe it's time to ask them to wash the bird poop off it. They can use my hose.
It would be crazy to freak out about poorly parked cars here, or cars parked in the street that obviously haven't been driven for many weeks, especially in these strange pandemic times.
But the larger lesson here is not to drink if you are a violent drunks like Grisanti and his wife.
