...if you go into the US numbers it shows New Jersey accounting for 1700+ of those.

a mistake. It could be genuine, but it's beyond mindboggling.

NJ: +1,743 deaths. ???

Worldmeters will adjust it soon to put those deaths in the past appropriately.

But deaths are no longer going down after the last few days.

And 1700 deaths that get added to past days' counts isn't a good thing, it just means we weren't doing quite as well on some previous dates as was thought.

6. It's coming from NJ. My guess is they're deaths that were initially undetermined

... the death rate has indeed been creeping up again. It lags new cases, of course.

The USA page shows +1743 deaths, but the page covering New Jersey by county only shows +27.

I suspect an error somewhere. Give it a few hours.
