Were We Wrong About the Closeted "Moderate" Governor Romney?

So the theme of the campaign was that Gov. Romney has always been a moderate in his heart of hearts. I watched Politico's Jim Vandehei try to push this meme on the Chris Matthew show today. That, the way he ran Massachusetts as Governor pointed to a pragmatic leader willing to reach out across the aisle. The most cynical among us have painted him as any empty suit who morphs into whatever the polls tell him he needs to be if wants to win the White House. But if the leaked videos revealed anything today, is that maybe, all along, the real Mitt Romney was/is a right wing, neocon, tea-party apologist who is unwilling to empathize with the plight of the least privileged members of our society. Either that, or he is doing a damn good acting job try to appease the right wing of the GOP.
