Trump Is in a Deep Hole. Can He Dig Himself Out Before November?

Every single poll that has come out in these last two weeks has painted a dire picture for President Donald Trump's chances at re-election. His overall job approval rating sits somewhere around 41 percent. He's down by an average of 9-10 points to Joe Biden. But we also know that it is only June. And, for those of us who covered the 2016 campaign, we feel as if we've been here before.

After all, back in June of 2016, Hillary Clinton led Trump by anywhere from 4 to 10 points. Trump was deeply unpopular back then and still won.

So, can Trump to turn things around this year like he did in 2016?

The biggest challenge for Trump is that he’s not the outsider anymore. He’s in charge. And, when you are in charge you need to prove that you are effective at dealing with the issues currently enveloping the country. Today, those issues are racial justice and the coronavirus. Right now, voters see him flailing on both. To change those perceptions, Trump needs to meet the moment. Instead, he is doubling down on his divisive racial rhetoric and continuing to take a dismissive approach to COVID-19.

They’ll figure out a way to suppress the vote. Perhaps opening only one polling place for several hundred thousand voters. Perhaps they’ll challenge all of the mail in votes and have a right wing court throw them out. Make no mistake... they will try anything and everything to suppress the tide rising against them.

He will make things worse for America and his reelection chances between now and November.

He will get MORE racist.
He will be more unhinged.
He will scream about "protestors and thugs."
He will impose more tariffs.
He will deny the pandemic even exists.

He will dig and dig and dig, a deeper hole, a deeper grave for his career.

From the solid 40%, down to 38 and now some polls at 36%.

But, the shift has been to undecided/uncommitted. The hole won’t be insurmountable until we see Biden at 55% consistently. We have a couple of polls at that level. If we see more next week it will be great news.

For now, it’s still very much in jeopardy as Trump’s supporters will look for any excuse to jump back on his racist bandwagon. Especially the “not yet lives matter” crowd.

This show is 3..and .. 1/2 years of an "Official Show." Donald Trump is a liar, a Con Man, and A Bully...Especially that last term...BULLY!!! Everyone knows that, and that is who he has defined himself to be.

....When I was growing up in the 50s, the people I disliked the most were the "Bullies." ... Most of us feel the same way. That is who Donald Trump is/was/ and will always be. Trump thinks he knows it all..and Donald Trump knows nothing at all..

........You know...."The virus will be gone in a few weeks...." Donald Trump said..."A few people will get it and then it will be gone"...... the bully said...That quote is out there for all to see. Total stupidity..

It ain't gone, and Donald Trump did an incredibly awful job in dealing with that.. Beyond that, he is an embarrassment and a looser.. An embarrassment to the U.S.A. and the world...Donald Trump will lose, and will lose big. He may even quit and get out before the election. Anything is possible.?...

I never in my wildest dreams thought we would be in the spot today...........So..ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE..
