The failure of some to wear masks will hurt businesses, but more importantly cause loss of life.

I have now crossed Target off the list of stores I am willing to go to. I was there yesterday and at least 50% of the people shopping were NOT wearing a mask. This is at a store that has an employee wiping down the cards, has installed plexiglas barriers at the cash register, and has put stickers on the floor were people need to wait before checking out. But 50% compliance with mask wearing is not good enough They need to step up and make it mandatory for entering the store. Many stores have done this, like Costco. Other stores make non-compliance difficult. Whole Foods has masks available for those who don't have one and when I was there I saw only one person not wearing a mask.

There should be no controversy over wearing a mask.

Just to note, my mother told me that when seat belts first became widely available there was a lot of resistance. People didn't want to use them because they wrinkled your clothes. It took a lot of PSA and campaigns to get people to buckle up. There was no reason that the same kind of campaign could not have been used to get people to wear masks. But of course that didn't happen. It didn't happen because on one single person named Donald Trump. And because of that people have died.

I live in San Francisco and go to the Target the next county over and everyone has a mask on. No one is admitted in the store without a mask. They have these huge guards that stop those who won’t wear a mask and will provide them with one. This one guy thought he’d get away without a mask and was surrounded by 3 large guys and he turned around and left the last time I was there standing in line.
