My wife and I make an average of $35,000 a year when we both work.
My wife lost her job for a better part of this past year she just found another job and right now is "on Call" meaning she may get called for work she may not.
We have been married for 10 years most of which my wife was able to keep me on her insurance but when she left her one job --hoping for better hours so we could actually see each other and have one day off together. I ended up getting health insurance from my place which takes about $200 per pay check. IF I had my wife on that plan and me I would not bring home money at all.
Last year wife ended up getting ill and almost died. The Job she had offered insurance BUT it would take half of her paycheck every week and due to gas and mileage and gas to heat and the fact I am diabetic and even with insurance still pay $100 for for my meds each month our apartment in winter she had to make the choice of going without so we would have the money we needed take care of herself.
She did take the lower paying insurance which took her forever to find a doctor to take the insurance when he did the doctor was a HUGE disappointed Yes, she's fat but at the time she was dealing with an issue and we didn't need a doctor saying you're fat loose weight. She was throwing up like crazy she couldn't get a night of rest because she would wake up throwing up. Someone thought it was stress and anxiety attacks due to the place she was working. That might have been part of the case. She would miss a lot of work being ill. The work place took her insurance away for missing so much work Find out she had a Hernia that was about to burst long story short emergency surgery while in the hospital recovering from that she got Pneumonia and nearly died. If it wasn't for Medicaid help I don't know where we would be.
Still my wife's lungs are week she gets sick VERY easily and right now I am worried she is getting a cold because it goes to pneumonia so easily.
But long story short What the Hell would Romney think of us? What are we in his little view of America. IF $200-250,000.00 middle class and we unfortunately we can't get help because we make just enough with my paycheck alone be over the help level.
My wife's mother raised my wife and her sister on $20,000.00 and couldn't get help because again she made just over the line to get help.
Basically my wife has lived all her life at that level but my wife is a person who tries her best to help her family. Even though we have a tight budget she is always willing to help a person in a worse situation.
My wife doesn't want a hand out but she would hope that one day there would be some sort of program that helps those who are just above the poverty level or that the country actually passes of living wage of $10.00-$12.00 an hour.
What Freak would that Smirk say to us?
