The one thing to remember is that Brown wrote that the Plains Indian Wars started with the Sand Creek Massacre of Arapaho And Cheyenne by the Colorado Militia in 1864. Protesters toppled the statue that partly commemorated it the other night. It was long overdue.

The city just took down a statue of Kit Carson today preempting protesters who were going to do it tonight. Carson murdered Navajos during their relocation.
