Who are staying at home, safe from COVID. They want the workers back at work and the consumers back consuming, so they want to see COVID spread like wildfire through the working class, culling the "weak" and allowing everyone else to get back to the all important business of making the 1% even richer than they already are. And once 5% of Americans are dead and COVID has died down, the very wealthy will come out of hiding.

(13,783 posts)... had to squeeze into overcrowded vans to get to work. No mention was made of whether or not they were wearing masks. But I thought that a really good activity for groups supporting such people would be to distribute N95 masks and hand sanitizer at the boarding spots, along with a paper bag for storage later and instructions, and more dollops of hand sanitizer at drop off points at the end of the day. I've never seen such pickup or dropoff points or I might consider doing it myself. But probably not. I'm 76 and haven't been within 6 ft of anyone except a supermarket clerk (both of us masked) since early March.
If you think this is a good idea, pass it on. Maybe someone who could take action will see it.

The Fortune 500 company for which I work is enforcing the strictest possible safety measures on employees, for as long as the pandemic may last.
All who can work from home are required to work from home, to the maximum extent possible. Those who must work on-site are required to observe a very strict safety protocol.
If many or most companies could take that stance, it would greatly reduce both the total economic impact and the human toll of this crisis.

(7,637 posts)and that is if they have to. We have masks and for people working closely next to each other ( like to fix some equipment) they have to don gloves, faceshield. We are not taking any chances.

(10,074 posts)If their employees become sick and die, it costs the company a lot of money to continuously train new ones. In this day and age the backlash from the community could hurt them even worse, especially with social media that can go around the world for people to change their buying habits.
