would have been exactly the kind of opportunity he should be laying awake at night dreaming of. There is no way he's not seriously compromised and afraid to touch Putin.

Someone can be a traitor without committing treason. Donald Trump is a treasonous traitor.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/articleiii
Article III, Section 3:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

The Congress shall have power to declare the punishment of treason, but no attainder of treason shall work corruption of blood, or forfeiture except during the life of the person attainted.

He has committed overt acts of "adhering to [our] enemies, giving them aid and comfort." One example is his delay of imposing mandated sanctions against Russia: https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/02/politics/trump-russia-sanctions-chemical-weapons-spy-poisoning/index.html He violated the law he swore to faithfully execute, providing Putin with considerable "aid and comfort".

Does his failure to act after being briefed on these bounties constitute an "overt act" that can be witnessed that courts have required for treason? I don't know, but it sure smells like the treason defined in the Constitution.

My bet is that even this information on Trump’s latest treachery won’t change the mind of most of the supporters in his cult.
