I'm a school bus driver and was looking forward to going back to work this fall but

with all the shitheads running around with no masks and slurping beer at crowded bars at every opportunity going to concerts and trump rallies etc. I guess that won't happen. The ignorance of this is sickening in so many ways.

The virus would mostly disappear because it dies without a host.

Govt should guarantee food and housing for every individual in the USA during the 6 weeks, and some period afterword. Essential workers are truly protected (to prevent spread, as well as being moral).

In the 6 week period prepare for *real* testing and contact tracing.

The impact on the economy, doing this today, would still be far less than the death by a thousand cuts approach currently employed.

The impact on lives saved would be enormous.

Too much chaos, I wouldn't be able to put up with it.

But it's an essential job.

The district where he drives, which is in a predominately middle to upper middle class, mostly white part of the county, had a higher rate of Covid-19 than here in Flint Township. WAY higher. I suspect it was brought in by people who traveled over the holidays and spring break. He was really sick back in March, showing all of the symptoms. Fortunately, he seems fine, now.
