I'm thinking rather than show his taxes he will resign. That way he doesn't have to show them and Pence can pardon him.

Otherwise, this is a continuing breakdown in rule of law (unless so narrowly tailored to the 'president' and while that person in office).

My concerns for legal system all along have been establishing a precedent that one simply doesnt have to comply with subpoenas.

When Trump refuses the order by the Supreme Court to turn over his tax returns, what action can be taken? Can he be held by U.S. Marshalls, or will he have to be Impeached a second time?

8. Penalty would probably rest in the court of original jurisdiction.

So the District Court would be the one to enforce it.

Which they should, of course.

11. His accounting firm, Mazars, will turn over the taxes.

It's not like trump himself has them in a drawer and has to hand them to Justice Ginsberg himself.

The legal case is Mazars and it is to compel the accounting firm to hand them over.

If SCOTUS rules they have to hand them over, they will do so.
