(19,074 posts)This was an easy decision, should have been 7-2, 5-4 is concerning and means that should Trump get 1 more SCOTUS that abortion rights are gone.

With a Biden win in November, I predict at least 3 retirements and women are going to be nominated.
Those are David Bryer, Clarence Thomas, and RBG. That will make ole Sam and Brett a tad uncomfortable. Women on the Supreme Court will make the Court more fair and independent to concentrate on the
Constitutionality of law.

(16,786 posts)will make Clarence Thomas twitch to high heaven, he will more than likely retire.
Clarence Thomas has done nothing for African-Americans with his votes. He voted to strike down Section 4 of the VRA that concerns voting changes and preclearance. Were it not for the Voting Rights Act, his parents, himself, his children would not have had the right to vote. The man is useless. He needs to go.

(15,127 posts)He does need to go. He has been toxic from the first day of his confirmation hearings.
He is a walking-talking example of why we need judicial ethics rules for SCOTUS too.

(6,486 posts)He's a corporate lawyer who thinks that his primary role is to give money and power to giant corporations and I think he's getting tired of society being distracted from that goal with teabaggers' cultural wars. He just wants to serve corporate power.
I read his Wikipedia article and was surprised to find that he had done some pro bono work for LGBT and homeless people.
