What Biden has going for him that Hillary Clinton didn't is that he is a White man. The right wing has not spent 30+ years demonizing him like they did Hillary Clinton.

Also, the consensus in Washington is that everyone likes and respects Biden as a human being. He is genuinely seen as a good guy, even if you disagree about politics and policy. The Graham ad by the one Republican group says it all, "If you don't like Joe Biden, there is something wrong with you."
