From creating a fairer country by acting against systemic racism, gearing up to actually have his administration lead domestically and internationally on covid and future epidemics to stop them from becoming pandemics, to making the new economy fairer instead of the trend toward the top 1 percent getting more, to leading domestically and internationally on climate change.
Really tough, bad times push people who have it in them to be good leaders to be great leaders. No time, in my 70 years has had as many major problems that MUST be fixed simultaneously. President Obama had to rise above all the problems created under Bush including two major wars and the economy on the verge of going off the cliff. I am not minimizing what he accomplished. Consider in spite of all of that, we look back to those years as wonderful versus now. That did not just happen, the Obama Biden team accomplished that.
However, Biden, who was mostly a centrist Democrat over his career, is already showing in his plans and the vision he articulates that he is listening to calls for transformative policies as absolutely needed. If he can lead a team to transform the country for the better, he will be a very important President.
