Yep, even in MO many think Trump is a sh*tshow. Obama only lost MO by 4,000 votes in 2008. cbdo2007 Jun 2020 #5

Both in MO it can certainly go Dem if the city dwellers GOTV. But if they don’t, the rednecks from the red hills will definitely vote and keep the state red. In 2016, the Dem office in Springfield wasn’t even staffed.

To me, this says city polling...but if these same folks will actually vote in Nov then MO can flip.

People do not understand how much Rural America is ready to dup Trump if given an option.

Win the states needed to be the President. Unlike many, I don’t need a landslide I just need to know that VP Biden will win. Focus on the states needed with a cushion to ensure victory. If TX, GA MO and the like come along so be it. Don’t chase the great white whale. Go for the win!

So it definitely can be flipped.

It's all about voter turnout. Trump is really not rubbing a lot of Repubes here the right way and Biden looks like a reasonable, just normal dude to most people.

The Repube Governor is doing a terrible job with COVID response and the Mayor of KC has handled everything over the past couple of months brilliantly which is getting more people motivated to vote also.

To say it is an outlier is an understatement.

1: We don't need MO to win the election, if we win MO we have already won the election by a lot, therefore we shouldn't devote many resources to it.

2: Being close there may push Trump to spend resources to defend it and may cause him to worry his base is crashing and start doubling down to keep it in place. Both strategies are really bad for him.

Money isn't an issue to me. Biden and various superpacs can operate like they have all the money in the world because they essentially do. A major Presidential campaign leading in the polls will never run out or even low on money. The limited resource is candidate time. Biden shouldn't visit MO other than maybe stopping briefly in Kansas City once maybe. But they should run ads everywhere and find a few surrogates who could work there as well.

If Biden won Missouri had probably won all of Clinton's states + Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, Texas, Arizona, Iowa, and maybe Indiana......he'd be in blowout territory.
