(11,738 posts)If we go down the road of the military getting involved in political issues it isn't something that can be undone. Once you go there one time, what is to stop it from happening over and over.
We need to settle this through the political process.

Afghanistan, Chile, Brazil, Cambocia, China, Iraq, Iran, etc.
Using the military to topple a leader is just as dangerous as Trump using the military to quiet protesters. It is not appropriate to use the military to address any domestic dispute.

I suppose much would depend on how much you trust the military to give up power and return to normal once the crisis has passed.
Generally not recommended.
